The last run
The opening scene is called The Last Run. At the start when the title comes up there is a sound of a drum symbol which doesn't really match the rest of the of the opening sequence. There is the first title and it says starring which we have been told not to put as it is what a TV series would do not a film. There is a pause in the music and just a black screen then it restarts again but I don't think that is meant to happen. The screen goes black for quite along time with just music playing in background. It goes to a still shot and the camera is knocked by the camera man and doesn't look good. The camera quality is good and the shots used are varied. As the names appear the screen goes black with white writing each time which is pretty boring. They could of put the names in places that fit in the scene. At the end the girl is running away then it goes black again and the music continues playing and then stops and is just silent. There is a noise that sounds like she is getting murdered and that is the end. The story line cant go further on. Its like the whole movie is in these 2 minutes and that is the end. It is not really a film opening.
The Visitor
This opening scene is called The visitor. The voice over is really effective and sets a good tense atmosphere. The voice is quite but clear enough to hear. The way the text comes onto the screen is done well letter by letter. The place where it is set well as it jumps from angle to angle and shows straight away a character in the film. The way the title start to flash before coming onto screen clear is really effective as the whole clip is all distort and it puts across the right image. After that it does just go to a black screen with white writing that doesn't look as good. Then colours that are used as it is dim and dull it isn't looking bright and colourful. Some of the shots that are jumped too appear twice so it looks the same. The story is clear but it hasn't brought in any other character or gave away anything that can happen.
Follow your tracks
This film opening is called Follow Your Tracks. The start is a good clear shot of a person walking and the character which is in the hood looks scary and sets the scene. There is a bit of wind that you can hear in the background but the breaking of the stick is really good and clear and makes it sounds like someone is following the character. The angle from the camera being in the bush is really effective as it looks like you are in the position of the baddie. The shot with the baddie in the background makes it look scary and you can now see he is following her. The running is shot well. When he catches her they pause and then he falls over. Having the title at the end makes it look like more of a trailer and not a opening scene.
Captive
I enjoyed this film opening especially due to the extremely high quality in camera, editing and sound. I thought it was quite original with what they have done however i think the genre horror is getting used too much and nowadays it can be quite hard to make a unique never seen before clip.
It created a lot of enigma at the beginning however i feel like it told the whole story in just 2 minutes and that there would not be much more else to see.
Due to this i was not interested or wanted to watch anymore. It was also very similar to a film trailer and because of this i will rate it a low level 4 / high level 3 as i did enjoy it, thought it was well made but lacked in looking like a proper film opening and more like a trailer.

This film opening had a really unique way of producing the titles as it did edit them on via a computer, instead they wrote it / painted it on varies objects which made it very original and more interesting to watch.
However i think they focused too much on making the titles then creating an enigma for the opening as it had no real story and nothing to drag me in and making me want to watch more. Despite this it was very well made with good editing and sound.
Another query was that the opening film scene of someone waking up is very over used and can be very boring as everyone chooses to use it.
Because of this i would rate it a level 3 as it was very good with its titles but had nothing to hook you into watching the rest of the film and was not so original with the footage of someone getting ready in the morning. The genre was also not clear as i could not identify what it was.

The genre was not clear however my guess is horror, if so it was not done well as it was not scary enough and created no suspense.
However the camera and sound was done really well with no shaky camera or blurred sound effects.
Due to this i will give them a level 2 as i thought also it was more like a trailer than an actual film opening. It made no sense.
The last thing is i liked how the title dropped in at the end, the special effects were done very well.
